How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Ensure maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently and within agreed timescales.

    * Minimise production downtime through effective fault diagnosis, planning and preventative maintenance.

    * Prepare method statements and risk assessments and ensure they are followed.

    * Promote and maintain high standards of health and safety across the engineering function.

    * Support the development and implementation of a comprehensive PPM programme.

    * Manage engineering tools and spare-parts inventory.

    * Use the CMMS effectively to record, monitor and manage maintenance activities.

    * Identify opportunities to improve engineering standards, reliability and team performance.

    * Support and encourage a positive, proactive and improvement-focused team culture.

    * Undertake occasional out-of-hours and weekend work when required.

    * Follow company policies and procedures relating to health and safety and the correct use and care of equipment and materials.

    * Undertake other reasonable duties as requested by the Line Manager.

    About You

We are looking for an experienced engineering professional with proven supervisory experience and strong technical knowledge.

    You will ideally have:

    * Previous supervisory or team leadership experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.

    * Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.

    * Experience using a CMMS or computerised maintenance management system.

    * Multi-skilled engineering experience, with an electrical bias.

    * Experience with PLC diagnostics and fault finding.

    * A proven engineering background, supported by a completed time-served apprenticeship or HNC/HND in an engineering discipline.

    * NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH qualification.

    * Experience of planned preventative maintenance and breakdown response.

    * The ability to identify opportunities for improvement and raise engineering standards.

Proactive, with a positive can-do attitude.

Reliable and able to take responsibility.

A strong communicator who can build effective working relationships.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.

Passionate about engineering, safety and continuous improvement.
