How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    HV Commissioning Engineer - Contract

    Up to £800 per day

    UK Wide | HV Power | 11kV-132kV

    Experienced HV Commissioner?

We're looking for an experienced HV Commissioning Engineer for ongoing project work across the UK.

You'll be working on major HV infrastructure projects, with a significant proportion of the current workload supporting renewable energy and data centre developments.

This is hands-on commissioning work across systems from 11kV through to 132kV.

    You'll be working across:

    Primary and secondary testing

    Protection relay testing and configuration

    Secondary injection testing

    Transformers and HV switchgear

    CTs and VTs

    SCADA and control systems

    G99/G59 testing

    Fault finding

    Energisation and handover

    Commissioning documentation

    We're looking for:

    Experienced HV Commissioning Engineers

Strong hands-on commissioning experience at 11kV+

Protection relay and secondary injection experience

Omicron/Megger or similar test equipment experience

DNO, ICP, IDNO or private network experience

Ability to work independently on site

SAP status or experience working under an SAP

Experience at 132kV would be particularly attractive, although strong engineers operating at lower HV levels will also be considered.

    The important bit

This is UK-wide project work and will regularly involve staying away during the week.

You can therefore be based virtually anywhere in the UK, provided you're happy travelling to wherever the project is.

Rate: up to £800/day depending on experience.

If you're an established HV Commissioning Engineer looking for well-paid, technically interesting project work with a strong pipeline behind it, we'd like to hear from you.
