How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    HV Commissioning Engineer - 11kV-132kV

    £70,000-£80,000 + Overtime + Door-to-Door Pay + Vehicle + Excellent Benefits

    Home Based / UK Wide

    Realistic total package £120,000+

If you're an experienced HV Commissioning Engineer and don't mind spending time away from home, this is a package worth looking at.

We're recruiting for a growing specialist HV engineering business delivering major power infrastructure projects across the UK, with a particularly strong pipeline within renewable energy and data centre environments.

You'll be home based and travel directly to project sites across the UK. Staying away during the week will be a regular part of the job.

In return, the earning potential is excellent.

    The package

    Basic salary circa £80,000

Paid door-to-door, including travel between your hotel and site

Regular overtime opportunities, including double-time payments

Additional payment simply for staying away

    Generous subsistence allowance

    Company van and fuel card

    Private healthcare

    Dental cover

    Excellent wider benefits package

    Realistic overall package worth £100,000+

    The job

You'll carry out testing and commissioning of HV electrical infrastructure from 11kV through to 132kV.

Projects include major grid connections, substations and complex power infrastructure, with much of the current workload supporting renewable energy and data centre developments.

    You'll be involved in:

    Primary and secondary testing

    Protection relay testing and configuration

    Secondary injection testing

    Transformers and switchgear

    CTs and VTs

    SCADA and control systems

    G99/G59 testing

    Fault finding and diagnostics

    Commissioning documentation and reports

    Energisation and handover

    About you

We're looking for an experienced HV commissioning professional rather than somebody whose experience is predominantly installation or maintenance.

    You'll ideally have:

    Strong hands-on HV commissioning experience

Experience across 11kV, 33kV and ideally higher voltages

    Protection and secondary injection experience

Experience with equipment such as Omicron and/or Megger

DNO, ICP, IDNO or private HV network experience

Ability to read schematics, SLDs and protection drawings

SAP status or good experience working under an SAP

You don't necessarily need to have commissioned at 132kV already if you've got strong HV commissioning experience and the capability to progress.

You can live anywhere in the UK.

What you must be comfortable with is travelling nationwide and regularly staying away Monday to Friday.

For somebody who enjoys site work, wants technically interesting HV projects and is happy travelling, the combination of basic salary, overtime, paid travel and stay-away payments makes this a seriously strong permanent package.
