How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Procurement and Contract Officer

    Location: West London
    Contract: Temporary
    Hours: 36 hours per week
    Rate: £21.52 per hour PAYE / £27.36 per hour Umbrella

    About the Role

    We are currently recruiting for a Procurement and Contract Officer to join a Temporary Accommodation (TA) & Resettlement service based in West London.

    The role will focus specifically on the Private Rented Sector (PRS) side of the service, with responsibility for sourcing and securing suitable accommodation and supporting effective relationships with landlords, letting agents and other property providers.

    We are looking for an experienced candidate with a strong background in accommodation procurement within the PRS, alongside excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.

    Key Responsibilities

    Procure suitable accommodation within the Private Rented Sector (PRS).

    Identify and secure appropriate properties to meet accommodation requirements.

    Negotiate rental terms, charges and contractual arrangements with landlords and letting agents.

    Develop and maintain strong relationships with landlords, agents and accommodation providers.

    Support the delivery of Temporary Accommodation and Resettlement services.

    Ensure accommodation meets required standards and organisational requirements.

    Manage and maintain accurate records relating to properties, suppliers and contracts.

    Support contract negotiations and monitor supplier performance.

    Work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure accommodation requirements are met.

    Resolve issues with landlords, agents and suppliers where required.

    Ensure procurement activity represents value for money and complies with relevant procedures and requirements.

    About You

    The successful candidate will ideally have:

    Previous experience in accommodation procurement within the PRS.

    Experience working within Temporary Accommodation, Housing or Resettlement services.

    Strong negotiation and influencing skills.

    Experience dealing directly with landlords, letting agents or property providers.

    Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

    Strong organisational and administrative skills.

    The ability to manage multiple properties, suppliers and requirements simultaneously.

    Good knowledge of the Private Rented Sector and housing market.

    The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a wider team.

    Desirable Experience

    Local authority or social housing experience.

    Experience within Temporary Accommodation.

    Experience of procurement or contract management.

    Knowledge of PRS leasing and accommodation sourcing.

    Experience working with landlords and letting agencies.

    Understanding of housing standards and compliance requirements.

    Rate & Hours

    36 hours per week

    £21.52 per hour PAYE

    £27.36 per hour Umbrella
