How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Technical Trainer – IND1

    TXM Recruit are currently seeking an experienced field based technical trainer to support the shutters, gates and secure department of a leading FM business.    Ideally you will be located near or within travelling distance from Stevenage as they have a training facility here.  UK travel with overnights required

    In this role you will lead and manage the technical support across S&G providing remote and onsite training and guidance to field engineers and operational staff alike.

    Salary & Hours
    £56 - 62k + £5,549 Car Allowance
    45 hours per week, Monday to Friday

    Your responsibilities will include:
    Technical authority: Act as the main technical escalation point for shutters, gates, doors, barriers and secure systems, providing remote and on-site fault-finding support.
    Fault diagnosis: Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical and control-system faults, improving first-time fixes and reducing repeat visits and incorrect parts ordering.
    Training & development: Design and deliver practical and classroom-based technical training for engineers and Managing Engineers, including fault diagnosis, triage and safe working practices.
    Technical expertise: Cover automatic doors, roller shutters, industrial/high-speed doors, sectional doors, automated gates, barriers, loading bays and access-control systems.
    Quotations & commercial support: Provide technical input into quotations, estimates, BERs and dilapidation works, ensuring labour, materials, access and risks are accurately assessed.
    Compliance & safety: Ensure technical advice and training meet relevant legislation, BS/EN standards, manufacturer requirements and safe systems of work.
    Continuous improvement: Analyse repeat faults, callbacks and technical issues to identify training needs and improve first-time fix, service quality and asset uptime.
    Client & supplier liaison: Act as a technical contact for clients, FM teams, manufacturers and suppliers, explaining technical findings and recommending solutions.
    Qualifications/experience: Requires substantial hands-on experience in automatic doors, shutters, gates or related engineering, with relevant industry qualifications/certifications. 18th Edition and teaching/training qualifications desirable.
