How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrical Engineer – Boston Spa

    Salary: £42,000 per annum
    Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
    Location: Boston Spa, West Yorkshire

    We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Boston Spa, offering a competitive salary of £42,000 and a clear pathway for career progression into High Voltage Authorised Person (HVAP) status.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically qualified engineer looking to develop their technical expertise and progress into a senior and highly responsible position.

    The Role

    As an Electrical Engineer, you’ll be responsible for supporting the safe, reliable and efficient operation of electrical systems across the site. You’ll undertake planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding and electrical installations, while working closely with the wider engineering and facilities teams.

    The role operates Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm, providing a consistent working pattern alongside genuine opportunities for professional development.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

    Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance

    *

    Diagnose and rectify electrical faults efficiently and safely

    *

    Complete electrical inspections, testing and repairs

    *

    Support electrical installation and improvement projects

    *

    Ensure all work is completed in accordance with relevant electrical standards and site procedures

    *

    Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation

    *

    Work collaboratively with other engineering and facilities teams

    *

    Follow all health & safety and permit-to-work procedures

    *

    Develop your knowledge and experience with high-voltage systems as part of your progression towards HVAP

    About You

    We’re looking for an electrically qualified engineer with a strong maintenance background and a genuine interest in progressing their career.

    You’ll ideally have:

    *

    A recognised electrical qualification, such as NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds

    *

    Previous experience in an electrical engineering or maintenance role

    *

    Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills

    *

    Good knowledge of electrical systems and safe working practices

    *

    A proactive approach and strong attention to detail

    *

    The ability to work independently and as part of a team

    *

    A willingness to undertake further training and development towards HVAP authorisation
