How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A place to make a difference

    Location: 100% onsite, Bradford office
    Salary: £26,780 per annum
Permanent, 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm

With over 22,500 homes across the country, we’re responsible for supporting thousands of customers and their families.

We’re proud to build positive, long-lasting relationships that go beyond housing. The work we do supports our customers and creates vibrant communities where people of all backgrounds can thrive.

If you pride yourself on delivering the best customer care and want to use your skills to make a positive impact on families and communities, there’s a place for you at Accent.

Help create a workplace where everyone feels welcome

A warm welcome. A well-prepared meeting room. The supplies colleagues need, just when they need them. These everyday details make a real difference and you could be the person who brings them together.

As our Office Administrator, you’ll help keep our offices running smoothly, creating a safe, organised and welcoming environment for colleagues and visitors. You’ll join a close-knit team in an organisation with a social purpose, where your ideas are valued and you can help improve the way we work.

    What you’ll be doing

This is a varied, practical role with people at its heart. You’ll:

Create a great first impression: welcome visitors warmly, help them feel comfortable and represent Accent with care and professionalism.
Keep the office running smoothly: order office supplies and kitchen stock, keeping everyday essentials available.
Get meetings off to a good start: prepare meeting rooms, arrange refreshments and organise catering when requested.
Help maintain our workplaces: coordinate with external contractors to support well-maintained facilities.
Support a safe working environment: provide essential administrative support to our facilities and health and safety teams.
Connect our offices: work closely with your colleagues at other Accent offices to provide a consistent experience across sites.
Make things better: share ideas, spot opportunities for improvement and help put practical solutions into action.
    Why join us?

You’ll be part of a close-knit team where your contribution is visible and your ideas matter. Working alongside colleagues across our offices, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the workplace experience, not just keep things ticking over.

Your work will help colleagues focus on delivering exceptional service, connecting the everyday running of our offices to our wider social purpose.

    Salary

The spot salary for the Office Administrator post is £26,780 per annum for applicants who fully meet the requirements of the post.  If you’re still developing some of the skills or experience, you can start at a salary 5% or 10% below the spot rate, with clear support and progression opportunities to reach the full amount.

    About you

Good organisational skills and the ability to manage changing priorities.
A helpful, customer-focused approach and a welcoming manner.
The initiative to spot what needs doing and take action.
A practical approach to solving problems, knowing when to ask for support.
Office administration skills and confidence using everyday computer systems including MS Office (Teams, Outlook, Excel Word, etc).
Clear communication and a professional approach when working with colleagues, visitors and contractors.
Experience managing external contractors, ordering stock and managing the invoicing process.
You’ll enjoy helping others, working collaboratively and taking care of the details that make an office a positive place to be.

    Interviews

We want your candidate experience to reflect who we are - a place to grow, a place to thrive, a place to be you.

Stage 1: A Place to Connect
A Teams interview with the hiring manager. You’ll learn more about the role and team, and we’ll get to know you – your experience, goals, and what you bring.
Planned date: 21st October via Teams.

Stage 2: A Place to Show Your Strengths
A role related assessment and behavioural and scenario-based interview focused on how you apply your knowledge to real-life situations. You'll be asked to complete a Customer Service Questionnaire in advance.
Planned date: 27th October at our Bradford office.

We aim to make the process clear, supportive, and genuinely valuable – a place where you feel informed and confident at every step.

A place to build a future

We’ve got big ambitions and we’re looking for people who want to grow with us. Here, you’ll have the chance to learn new skills, shape your career, and thrive in a collaborative environment where your ideas matter.

This is more than a job – it’s a place where you can make an impact, feel valued, and be rewarded for what you do.

    We’re Committed to Inclusion

We believe diversity makes us stronger and we’re committed to creating a place where everyone feels valued, respected, and able to thrive.

Our recruitment process is designed to be accessible and inclusive, and if you need any reasonable adjustments at any stage, just let us know – we’ll make it happen.

    Because this isn’t just a workplace – it’s a place to belong.

Please don’t delay in submitting your application. Where roles are urgent or we receive a high volume of applications, we may interview and conclude the process prior to any closing date indicated.

Please note candidates must have current eligibility to live and work in the UK, Accent do not currently hold a sponsorship license
