The Role – SEN Teaching Assistant
A specialist SEN school in Haringey is seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join its support team. The school works with primary and secondary-aged pupils who have a range of medical, cognitive and physical needs, providing tailored support to help each student make progress.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers to deliver engaging learning activities and provide individualised support both in the classroom and through 1:1 interventions. You will help pupils overcome barriers to learning, develop their communication and social skills, and build greater confidence and independence.
This role would suit someone who is compassionate, patient and proactive, with a genuine interest in supporting children and young people with additional needs. Previous experience in a special school or a similar support setting would be beneficial.

The Ideal Candidate – SEN Teaching Assistant
* Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or within a similar educational support role.
* Experience supporting children with medical, cognitive or physical disabilities.
* Confident delivering 1:1 support and working with small groups of pupils.
* Able to adapt learning activities to suit individual abilities and requirements.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
* A calm, patient and flexible approach to supporting additional needs.
* Available to start ASAP and interested in a long-term opportunity.
