How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Systems Engineer

    Location: Whiteley, Hampshire | Full-time | Flexible working available
    Security clearance required | UK & occasional overseas travel

    We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to help deliver safe, secure and interoperable systems across the full engineering lifecycle.

    Working with customers, suppliers and multidisciplinary teams, you’ll turn complex requirements into practical, supportable solutions, primarily integrating COTS equipment into Air Traffic Services.

    Key responsibilities

    * Requirements management, traceability and systems architecture.

    * Interface management, integration, verification, validation and acceptance.

    * Technical assurance, configuration control and change impact assessment.

    * Systems engineering analysis, trade studies and option evaluation.

    * Developing clear, controlled engineering documentation and evidence.

    * Working collaboratively to deliver safe, secure, resilient and supportable solutions.

    About you

    You’ll be a practical, collaborative Systems Engineer with experience in a technical, safety-related or regulated environment. You’ll have strong communication skills, sound engineering judgement and the ability to manage priorities and make evidence-based decisions.

    Essential:

    * Engineering, scientific, technology degree/professional qualification or equivalent experience.

    * Experience in systems engineering, requirements management, integration, architecture, interfaces and configuration control.

    Desirable:

    * Experience in Air Traffic Management, aviation, defence or another regulated environment.

    * Experience with verification, validation, acceptance and technical assurance.

    * IBM Rational DOORS or similar requirements/modelling tools.

    * Professional registration, relevant membership or INCOSE certification
