How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Ready to take ownership of crop performance in one of the UK's most advanced growing environments?

We're recruiting on behalf of a highly innovative horticultural business that is investing heavily in technology, sustainability and the future of UK food production.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Grower to take responsibility for high-performing protected crops within a modern growing environment. You'll play a key role in crop strategy, climate management, irrigation, crop protection and overall production performance, working alongside a talented team committed to delivering exceptional results.

If you're looking for a role where you can make real growing decisions, influence crop outcomes and work with cutting-edge technology, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.

    Why Apply?

Take ownership of crop performance, yield and quality.
Work with modern glasshouse technology and data-driven growing systems.
Join a forward-thinking business committed to innovation and sustainability.
Play a key role in crop strategy and continuous improvement projects.
Work alongside experienced growing, technical and operational teams.
Genuine opportunity for long-term career development.
    Competitive salary and benefits package.

    The Opportunity

As Grower, you'll be accountable for the performance of commercial protected crops, ensuring yield, fruit quality and plant health targets are achieved.

You'll use data, crop observations and technical expertise to make informed decisions around climate, irrigation, nutrition and crop steering, helping optimise crop performance throughout the season.

This is a highly technical position that combines practical growing expertise with strategic decision-making. You'll also work closely with operations, technical and production teams to ensure growing programmes are delivered effectively and consistently.

No two days are the same, and you'll be trusted to make key decisions that directly impact crop performance and business success.

    About You

We're looking for someone with strong technical growing expertise who enjoys taking ownership and making informed crop decisions.

    You'll ideally bring:

    Commercial protected crop growing experience.
Soft fruit experience would be highly advantageous.
Strong understanding of climate management, irrigation and fertigation systems.
Experience analysing crop and environmental data.
    Excellent observational and problem-solving skills.
Previous experience leading or mentoring colleagues within a growing environment.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work across multiple departments.
A proactive approach and confidence making decisions.

    Desirable Qualifications

Degree in Horticulture, Plant Science or a related discipline.
    BASIS and/or FACTS qualifications.
    PA1, PA6 and PA9 certifications.
Experience with climate control systems such as Priva or equivalent.
Knowledge of modern protected cropping and automated growing systems.

    What's On Offer?

    Competitive salary and benefits package.

    In addition, you'll benefit from:

Working with some of the UK's most advanced growing technology.
Exposure to innovative growing techniques and development projects.
A business committed to investing in its people and facilities.
Ongoing professional development and career progression opportunities.
The chance to make a genuine impact within a growing and ambitious business.

    Apply Today

This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious Grower looking to take ownership of crop performance and develop their career within a progressive horticultural business.
