How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Take responsibility for project financial control, maximising profitability while maintaining strong client and supply chain relationships.

    *

Identify, manage and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.

    *

Proactively identify potential issues and address them at an early stage.

    *

Manage project variations, valuations, applications and final accounts.

    *

Manage the procurement process and placement of subcontract orders in line with agreed procurement programmes.

    *

Negotiate subcontract and commercial terms in conjunction with the wider project team.

    *

Manage and support the preparation of Extension of Time, delay and other contractual claims where required.

    *

Lead and manage value engineering initiatives, working collaboratively with relevant stakeholders.

    *

Support the resolution and settlement of commercial disputes.

    *

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.

    *

Provide commercial leadership and support to the wider project team.

    *

Lead, mentor and develop junior commercial team members.

    *

Work closely with the Project Manager, Contracts Manager and Operations teams to support successful project delivery.

    *

Ensure compliance with company processes, procedures and commercial standards.

    *

Contribute to continuous improvement and the achievement of project and business objectives.

    About You

We are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor who can demonstrate a strong track record of commercially managing projects of significant size and complexity.

    You will ideally have:

Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a Tier 1 main contractor environment.

    *

    Experience managing large-scale construction projects.

    *

Experience within the education, public-sector or similar sectors would be advantageous.
