How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Role

    We are looking for a Night Concierge worker to provide a waking, overnight on-site presence in the Service, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of 26 young men aged 18-25 years old.

    You will instinctively work in a manner that aligns fully with Salvations Army Homes values and behaviours, demonstrating energy and passion, along with a positive can-do attitude in your contribution as a night concierge to transforming lives.

    You will be part of a passionate and committed team dedicated to transforming lives and helping individuals achieve positive, sustainable outcomes.

    What you’ll be doing

    Engage and build supportive relationships with residents who live in the service.
    Actively engage residents in understanding the service and their responsibilities under their Licence Agreement and Good Neighbour Agreement.
    Responding to emergency situations and contacting the appropriate emergency services when required.
    Ensure the safety of residents and the security of the building by monitoring CCTV, complete Health & Safety Checks & patrols.
    Respond promptly to reports of property repairs and maintenance issues within the accommodation, following appropriate procedures.What you’ll bring

    Take an asset-based approach to empowering people to develop their skills, strengths and talents.
    Have good knowledge or experience of working with homeless people, and / or supporting vulnerable people or groups.

    Service based at The Limes, Longsight, Manchester
    Rota based includes weekends (working 4 days on/4 days off, shift times 10pm – 8am)
