How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Helping to shape bid strategy, win themes and key messages, and putting together bid plans with clear milestones and deadlines

    * Coordinating bid teams so that everyone knows what is needed from them and by when

    * Writing original, persuasive tender responses and proposals, and tailoring existing library content so it fits each bid

    * Gathering technical and commercial information from teams across the business, including operations, finance, QHSE and ICT

    * Managing bid administration and tender portal activity to the required standards and deadlines

    * Reviewing submissions before they go out for accuracy, completeness and compliance

    * Keeping accurate records of bid activity, decisions and outcomes, and providing regular progress updates to senior leadership

    * Building and maintaining a bid library of standard answers, evidence and case studies

    * Running lessons learned on successful and unsuccessful bids, and turning feedback into practical improvements

    * Carrying out market and competitor research to strengthen bid positioning

    * Supporting blogs, internal communications and wider marketing activity when needed

    The ideal candidate will have

    * Experience writing or supporting tender submissions, including working with several stakeholders to tight deadlines

    * Excellent written English, with the ability to make complex information easy to follow

    * The confidence to get what they need from subject matter experts without having formal authority over them

    * The ability to stay calm and organised during busy, high-volume periods

    * Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills

    * Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project

    * A general awareness of workplace health and safety

    Desirable

    * Experience in social housing or the wider public sector

    * Experience using tender portals

    * APMP qualification at Foundation, Practitioner or Professional level
