How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Clerk of Works | Residential Projects | Midlands

    An independent, growing multidisciplinary consultancy with a strong presence across the midlands is looking for a clerk of works to support them with resi projects across the West/East Midlands.

    The Clerk of Works - Role and Responsibilities

    As the clerk of works on site, you will manage residential projects - apartments and dwellings across the west and east midlands.

    Previous experience working as a Clerk of Works, NEC Supervisor or in a similar construction quality role.
    ICWCI or MCIOB
    Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and workmanship
    Previous residential experience
    Previous consultancy experience beneficial
    Identifying and recording defects, non-compliance and areas of concern
    Producing clear and detailed inspection reports
    Maintaining accurate photographic and written site records
    Monitoring progress against the agreed construction programme
    Attending project, progress and site meetings
    Liaising with contractors, consultants, client representatives and other stakeholders
    Supporting the wider project team in resolving quality and technical issues
    Ensuring relevant testing and inspections are undertaken and appropriately recorded
    Monitoring health and safety observations and escalating concerns where appropriate
    Full driving license
    Excellent attention to detail
