How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Position: Regional Sales Manager
    Location: North West UK
Salary: Up to £60k basic + commission + car/car allowance
    Company: Product Inspection systems manufacturer

    Responsibilities:
    • To profitably grow sales of metal detection & check weighing inspection solutions across the North West territory.
    • The role is primarily a new-business development position: creating opportunities with end users and OEMs, converting those opportunities into profitable orders and building a sustainable territory pipeline.
    • Build and execute a territory prospecting plan focused on net-new customers and new opportunities.
    • Create qualified opportunities through direct prospecting, referrals, networking, OEM relationships, exhibitions and marketing leads.
    • Develop relationships with decision-makers and influencers across Engineering, Production, Technical, Quality, Operations and Procurement.
    • Meet or exceed agreed revenue, margin and product-mix targets.
    • Prioritise the territory using market potential, account value and likelihood to buy.
    • Develop existing accounts without allowing account management to displace new-business activity.
    • Identify and develop OEM, integrator and strategic partner opportunities.
    • Maintain competitor and market awareness and feed useful intelligence into the sales strategy.
    • Understand the customer application, process, product, risk and commercial requirement.
    • Work with internal technical colleagues to define accurate, fit-for-purpose solutions.
    • Communicate value in terms of product protection, compliance, productivity, reliability, total cost and return on investment.
    • Prepare clear specifications, proposals and commercial terms.
    • Own opportunities from first contact through to order and handover.

    Requirements:
    • Experience selling capital equipment, automation, inspection, instrumentation or engineered solutions.
    • Experience selling into food, beverage, pharmaceutical or other regulated manufacturing.
    • Existing relationships with manufacturers, OEMs, integrators or engineering teams in the North West.
    • Technical qualification or practical engineering/application background.
    • Demonstrable success in field-based new-business development within a technical, engineering or manufacturing environment.
    • Able to evidence personally generated opportunities and new-account wins, not solely management of inherited accounts.
    • Commercially numerate and comfortable discussing value, margin, pricing and negotiation.
    • Technically curious and credible in a factory/production environment.
    • Self-motivated, organised and comfortable managing a geographic territory and travel schedule.
    • Full UK driving licence
