How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Purchase Ledger Clerk

    Bury, BL9 | £27,000–£30,000

    Permanent | Full-time | 37.5 hours per week

    Love getting the numbers right? Enjoy solving a query and keeping everything running smoothly? This could be your next move.

    We’re recruiting a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join a Bury-based business. If you’re organised, confident with invoices and payments, and take pride in keeping supplier accounts in good order, we’d love to hear from you.

    What you’ll be doing

    You’ll play a key part in the day-to-day finance function, making sure records are accurate, queries are resolved and payments stay on track.

    * Processing supplier invoices, payments and receipts.

    * Reconciling supplier statements and spotting discrepancies.

    * Allocating payments and keeping the accounting system up to date.

    * Working with suppliers and colleagues to resolve invoice and payment queries.

    * Managing employee expenses and company credit card reconciliations.

    * Supporting month-end processes and year-end audits.

    * Helping the wider finance team with day-to-day administration.

    What you’ll bring

    You might already be a Purchase Ledger Clerk or Accounts Payable Assistant, or have finance administration experience and be ready for your next step.

    We’re looking for:

    * Previous experience processing invoices and payments.

    * A sharp eye for detail and a confident approach to numbers.

    * Good Excel skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.

    * An understanding of basic accounting principles.

    * The ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and manage your own workload.

    * A friendly, professional approach when dealing with suppliers and colleagues.

    Knowledge of CIS and VAT Domestic Reverse Charge would be a bonus, but isn’t essential.

    What’s in it for you?

    * £27,000–£30,000 salary, depending on experience.

    * 24 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, increasing with service.

    * Private healthcare.

    * A permanent position working 37.5 hours per week.
