Key Account Manager

Key Account Manager / Brand Partnership Manager – Spider is recruiting on behalf of a growing and forward-thinking freight forwarding and logistics business for a relationship-focused commercial professional to join their team in Little Blakenham, Suffolk.
This is a full-time, permanent, office-based position offering the opportunity to build and co-manage your own customer portfolio.
Salary: £27,000–£38,000 basic + 20% commission on profit for the lifetime of the client

About the role:
As Key Account Manager / Brand Partnership Manager, you will build long-term customer relationships, identify opportunities and secure new business across European road freight, sea, air, rail and multimodal transport.
Key responsibilities include:
* Building relationships with importers, exporters, procurement teams, business owners and decision-makers
* Identifying and securing new freight forwarding business
* Understanding customer supply chains and developing effective transport solutions
* Preparing and presenting freight quotations and proposals
* Managing your own pipeline, activity and targets
* Attending customer meetings, networking and relevant industry events
* Working closely with operations to ensure smooth customer handovers and excellent ongoing service
* Continuing to develop customer relationships and identify further opportunities
The commission structure is truly uncapped. You will receive 20% of the profit generated by every client you win for the lifetime of that client, rewarding you for building profitable, long-term relationships.
About you:
You’ll be a natural relationship builder with strong communication and commercial skills, confidence dealing with senior decision-makers and the ability to develop B2B business.
You’ll be proactive, organised and comfortable managing your own pipeline while working collaboratively with an experienced operations team.
Freight forwarding sales experience is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided. An existing network of freight customers and/or relevant retail or commercial contacts would be highly desirable.
This role would suit someone looking for genuine ownership of their customer portfolio and the opportunity to develop a long-term career with a growing freight forwarding business. There is scope to progress into more senior commercial or management roles.
