How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Business Coordinator

    Central Edinburgh | £28,500 – £30,000 per annum | Full Time | Permanent | 40 hours per week

    About the Role

Our client is an established care and support organisation that has specialised in providing high-quality support and care staff to voluntary and statutory projects across Central Scotland for more than 20 years.

They are now looking for a Business Coordinator to join their busy and growing team in Central Edinburgh.

This is a varied, people-focused role combining client relationship management, business development and staffing coordination. You will build strong relationships with existing clients, reconnect with previous clients, identify new opportunities and make sure staffing requirements are responded to quickly and effectively.

You'll work closely with clients, agency staff, managers and colleagues, coordinating shifts and matching suitable staff to client requirements. It's an opportunity for someone who enjoys making things happen, building relationships and keeping multiple moving parts organised.

    What you'll be responsible for:

Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.
Reconnecting with previous and inactive clients and developing new business opportunities.
Understanding clients' staffing needs and identifying opportunities to provide additional support.
Responding promptly to client enquiries and following up opportunities.
Coordinating agency, SDS1 and care and support shifts and responding to staffing gaps.
Matching suitable staff to shifts based on availability, experience, training and client requirements.
Managing shift changes, cancellations and replacement cover.
Maintaining accurate client, staffing and business development records.
Supporting the Agency Manager with the smooth running and continued development of the Agency.
Helping to improve systems and processes around staffing and shift coordination.
Participating in the organisation's on-call rota.

    About You

You'll be organised, proactive and confident in building relationships, with the ability to work effectively in a busy environment where priorities can change quickly.

    You'll be someone who:

Communicates professionally and naturally with clients, staff and colleagues.
Is responsive and comfortable working in a busy environment where priorities can change quickly.
Has excellent admin, organisational and coordination skills.
Can identify opportunities and take initiative rather than waiting to be asked.
Is confident dealing with staffing issues and finding practical solutions.
Can manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
Works well as part of a team and is happy to support colleagues when needed.
Has a positive, professional and approachable manner.

Previous experience in business development, client relationship management, recruitment, staffing coordination or a care / support environment would be advantageous.

    Why Consider This Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join a growing organisation in a position where your relationships, organisation and ability to make things happen will have a direct impact on clients, staff and the continued development of the services delivered.

You'll work closely with Senior Management and a wider team, with the opportunity to contribute ideas, develop relationships and help shape how staffing services are delivered.

    Location: Central Edinburgh

    Hours: 40 hours per week

If this sounds like the opportunity you're looking for, our client would like to hear from you.

As part of your application, you'll complete a short online recruitment process taking approximately 10 minutes. It's designed to help you and our client understand whether the role is a strong mutual fit before progressing to the next stage
