How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Vehicle Paint Technician / Paint Sprayer / Commercial Vehicle Paint Technician
    Location: Gloucester
    Salary: Competitive, depending on experience and qualifications
    Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (40 hours per week)
    Holidays: 20 days' annual leave plus bank holidays

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Vehicle Paint Technician to join an established and expanding specialist vehicle repair business in Gloucester. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Paint Sprayer with an accident repair background who enjoys working on a wide variety of vehicles and tackling different challenges.
     
    Unlike a traditional car bodyshop, you'll be working on everything from caravans and motorhomes to horseboxes, vans and other specialist vehicles. If you have experience in vehicle refinishing, fibreglass, plastics and aluminium repairs and take pride in delivering exceptional results, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.

    The Role
    As a Vehicle Paint Technician, Paint Sprayer or Commercial Vehicle Paint Technician, you'll be responsible for preparing, repairing and refinishing a variety of vehicles, ensuring all work meets high standards of quality and workmanship.
    Your responsibilities will include:
    ·Preparing surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, filling and masking.
    ·Mixing and matching paint colours to achieve accurate finishes.
    ·Applying primers, basecoats and clearcoats using professional spray equipment.
    ·Carrying out paint repairs and refinishing on caravans, motorhomes, horseboxes, vans and other vehicles.
    ·Repairing and working with fibreglass, plastics and aluminium.
    ·Identifying and repairing damp areas, including carrying out resealing work where required.
    ·Ensuring all repairs are completed to a high standard with excellent attention to detail.
    ·Working closely with colleagues to meet deadlines and maintain efficient workshop operations.
    ·Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
    ·Following all relevant health and safety procedures.
    Occasional weekend work and attendance at trade shows will also be required.
     
    About You
    To be considered for this Vehicle Paint Technician position, you'll ideally have:
    ·Significant experience as a Vehicle Paint Technician or Paint Sprayer within an accident repair environment.
    ·Strong knowledge of automotive painting techniques, materials and preparation methods.
    ·Experience using paint mixing equipment and professional spray guns.
    ·Experience working on a variety of vehicles, ideally including larger or specialist vehicles.
    ·Knowledge of fibreglass, plastic and aluminium repairs.
    ·Experience with damp repairs and resealing would be advantageous.
    ·Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality finishes.
    ·The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    ·A self-motivated, enthusiastic approach and a strong work ethic.
    ·Good communication skills and the flexibility to support the wider team.
