With projects due to start within the next couple of months, we are looking to build a reliable pool of experienced Platelayers who are available for ongoing, regular work with ISS Ltd.
Shifts will include a mixture of midweek day and night work across different projects and locations in London.
The Role
We are looking for experienced Platelayers who are comfortable working within busy rail environments and can work safely and effectively as part of a track team.
Typical duties may include:

Track installation, maintenance and renewal works
*
Removal and replacement of rail, sleepers and associated track components
*
Working as part of a track gang
*
Carrying out works in accordance with site instructions and safe systems of work
*
Using appropriate hand tools and track equipment
*
Maintaining high safety and workmanship standards
*
Working across Network Rail and London Underground environments as required
Requirements
To be considered, applicants will need:
*
Valid PTS
*
BTA competency/training
*
Previous experience working as a Platelayer
*
Relevant rail/track experience
*
Good understanding of rail site safety
*
Ability to work midweek day and night shifts
*
A reliable and professional approach
BTA is required as part of the role. Where necessary, ISS Ltd may be able to provide BTA training for suitable candidates.
Self-Contained Gangs Wanted
As well as individual Platelayers, we are very interested in speaking to existing self-contained gangs who already work well together.
If you currently work as part of an established gang, please make us aware when applying. Where possible, include information about the other members of your gang and their competencies.
We are looking to develop teams that can work regularly across a number of ISS Ltd rail and London Underground projects.
Pay
Rates are £17.00–£19.00 per hour, depending on the applicable shift/project.
Please note that payment for these projects is Umbrella PAYE only.
Work is expected to begin within the next couple of months, with ongoing regular opportunities available thereafter.
