How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Area Repairs Manager

    £56,297.74 (with car allowance of £2,750.28) per year

    Full-Time, Permanent role

    Hybrid - Milton Keynes area

    As an Area Repairs Manager at Amplius, you’ll lead and manage a team of surveyors in delivering high-quality repair and empty homes services across the region, ensuring a customer-first approach, strong performance, and value for money.

    Salary: £56,297.74 (with a car allowance of £2,750.28) per year

    Contract: Permanent, full time

    Your week: 36.25 hours - Monday to Friday 9am to 5:15pm

    Location: Hybrid, with a weekly presence in our Milton Keynes office.

    Snapshot of your role

    * Lead and support the team to monitor contractor performance, ensuring quality, timeliness and value, and address any underperformance promptly.

    * Maintain the accuracy and integrity of all contract administration and reporting data, continually improving auditing and reporting processes.

    * Extract and analyse data from core systems to support contract management and informed decision-making.

    * Support budget forecasting, monitoring and control, recommending remedial action where needed.

    * Ensure services meet customer and stakeholder expectations, with clear communication and timely responses to enquiries and escalations.

    * Oversee sensitive and robust complaint handling, using feedback to drive continuous improvement.

    * Promote collaborative working across teams while ensuring health, safety and risk management requirements are met.

    * Lead by example to manage team performance, uphold consistent standards and represent Amplius with internal and external stakeholders.

    What you’ll need to thrive in this role

    * Experience working as an Area Repairs Manager or similar role.

    * Level 4 QCF recognised housing management qualification, or willingness to work towards this.

    * Strong knowledge of social housing repairs and maintenance, with a commitment to the values and objectives of Amplius.

    * Proven ability to lead, develop and engage remote teams, inspiring confidence, trust and high performance.

    * Experience managing performance issues, implementing improvement plans and leading change effectively.

    * Skilled in analysing operational data, managing budgets and resources, and identifying risks and opportunities to improve service delivery.

    * Good understanding of health and safety, risk compliance, and balancing customer empathy with operational demands.

    Important - DBS clearance, full UK drivers licence, access to your own vehicle, and right to work in the UK are essential requirements. We do not provide sponsorship.
