Permanent | Regular travel across Midlands sites, with occasional wider UK travel
Enjoy being out on site, solving problems and getting to know the people you support? This is an opportunity to take ownership of IT across a regional network of busy operational locations, combining hands-on support with rollouts, upgrades and improvements.
Travel is a core part of this role and you need to have previous experience in a field/travelling support role. Following an initial onboarding period, you'll typically be out visiting sites across the Midlands throughout the working week. Your schedule will combine planned visits, project work and support requests, so you'll need to be comfortable adapting your diary, travelling further afield when required to work on larger projects.
I'm working with a large, established business looking for someone who can become a trusted face across its sites. Someone who gets stuck into technical issues, keeps people updated and builds the relationships that make good IT support work.
The work is varied. One day you could be investigating Wi-Fi coverage or troubleshooting a handheld device; another, supporting an Intune rollout, upgrading laptops or coordinating suppliers on site. Connectivity matters here: when systems stop working, operations feel the impact straight away.
Currently, the role is approximately 60% day-to-day support and 40% projects. You'll support Windows devices, Microsoft 365, Intune, Apple devices and local applications, alongside networking environments using Meraki and UniFi. Current projects include Intune deployment and Windows 10/11 compliance.
You'll also help assess sites, recommend improvements and oversee third-party installations. There's a wider technical team and senior project delivery engineers to call on, alongside the independence to take ownership locally.
I'd be keen to speak with you if you've got practical field or multi-site IT support experience, a good grounding in hardware and networking, and confidence troubleshooting switches, access points and Wi-Fi. Experience supporting rollouts or installations would also be valuable.
Just as important is how you work with people. You'll need to be approachable, comfortable talking to colleagues with different levels of technical knowledge, and reliable when it comes to updating tickets, communicating progress and following things through.
The role is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Out-of-hours work is occasional, with TOIL provided when required. You'll need a full driving licence and have previous work experience in a field/travelling role.
