How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Lift Engineer - Bristol

    Lift Service | Lift Repair | Call-Out | Lift Industry

    Location: Bristol, South West
    Salary: £45,000-£50,000 basic salary (DOE)
    Benefits: Paid overtime * Paid standby * All travel expenses & travel time paid door-to-door * NVQ Level 4 / progression opportunities
    Coverage: Bristol, South West, Devon & Somerset
    Marmon Lift Recruitment is seeking an experienced Lift Engineer to join an established lift business operating across Bristol and the South West. The successful engineer will service, maintain, and repair customer lifts, respond to breakdowns, and ensure equipment remains safe, reliable, and compliant.

    The Lift Engineer Role

    Service and maintain customer passenger and goods lifts.
    Repair or replace lift components and carry out technical repairs.
    Respond to emergency breakdowns, diagnose faults and rectify issues.
    Carry out safety checks and risk assessments.
    Manage your workload and assigned service route effectively.
    Maintain van stock and identify parts required for repairs.
    Recommend parts and equipment required to keep lifts compliant.
    Complete service records, reports and relevant documentation.
    Work professionally with customers and site contacts.
    Participate in an out-of-hours / standby rota where required.
    Maintain high standards of health & safety at all times.

    Ideal Lift Engineer Candidate

    Experienced Lift Service Engineer, Lift Repair Engineer or Lift Call-Out Engineer.
    NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering or equivalent qualification.
    Full UK driving licence and able to travel.
    Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
    Experience servicing and repairing passenger lifts.
    Good knowledge of lift safety and H&S requirements.
    Excellent communication and customer-care skills.
    Organised, self-motivated and able to work independently.
    Able to use initiative and take ownership of personal development.
    Experience with traction and hydraulic lift equipment would be advantageous.
    Comfortable working as part of an out-of-hours rota.
