How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls and workflows.
    * Embracing new payroll technology, digital systems and automation opportunities.
    * Sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues across the wider payroll team.
    * Contributing to the continued development and improvement of the payroll department.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm.

    Additional Benefits
    * Private medical cover for all staff.
    * Death in service cover equivalent to four times salary.
    * 31 days annual leave.
    * Your birthday off in addition to annual holiday entitlement.
    * Subsidised sports and social club.
    * Flexi Friday option for full-time employees, working an additional 45 minutes Monday to Thursday and finishing at lunchtime on Friday.

The successful candidate will ideally have:
    * Strong payroll experience, ideally gained within an accountancy practice or bureau environment.
    * Experience processing multiple payroll frequencies, including weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls.
    * Strong knowledge of statutory payments, pensions, RTI and HMRC requirements.
    * Excellent attention to detail and a strong understanding of payroll compliance.
    * Strong Microsoft Excel and general IT skills.
    * Experience with IRIS Payroll Professional or BrightPay would be advantageous but is not essential.
    * Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with confidence dealing directly with clients and external organisations.
    * A proactive approach and genuine desire to contribute to the wider success of the payroll team.
    * A willingness to embrace new technology and identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
    * A collaborative approach, with a willingness to share knowledge and support colleagues.

The client is particularly looking for someone who:
    1. Has strong, hands-on payroll experience and excellent technical knowledge.
