Quantity Surveyor (Civil Engineering)

This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Birmingham office.

Your new role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial delivery of civil engineering projects, ensuring financial performance is maintained while supporting the successful execution of works on site.

Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:

Managing project costs from procurement through to final account
Preparing and reviewing subcontract packages and appointing subcontractors
Assessing subcontractor applications and managing payments
Producing cost reports, forecasts and commercial performance updates
Identifying and managing variations, change control and risk
Administering NEC form of contract and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements
Working closely with operational teams to maximise project profitability
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.This role offers exposure to significant infrastructure projects and the opportunity to take ownership of key commercial activities throughout the project lifecycle.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will bring:

Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying (or similar qualification) or experience equivalent
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, ideally with a subcontractor
Sound understanding of NEC forms of contract
Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation skills and financial management capabilities
Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills
Full UK driving licence.
