How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    1:1 SEND Tutor - Derbyshire

    Working in partnership with the Local Authority | Spencer Clarke Tutors
    Pay Rate: £25-£32 per hour
    Location: Derbyshire
    Hours: Flexible, dependent on learner requirements
    Contract: Part-time
    Spencer Clarke Tutors are looking for an experienced and compassionate 1:1 SEND Tutor to support children and young people across Derbyshire through Local Authority-funded education programmes.
    You will provide personalised tuition to learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) who may be accessing alternative provision, EOTAS, or require additional support to remain engaged with their education.

    The Role

    Deliver engaging 1:1 tuition tailored to each learner.
    Adapt lessons to meet individual SEND needs and learning styles.
    Develop positive, supportive relationships with children and young people.
    Help learners build confidence, engagement and independence.
    Monitor progress and provide clear session feedback.
    Support learners with their academic, social and personal development.

    Requirements

    Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND.
    Teaching qualification, tutoring experience or relevant educational experience.
    Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
    Ability to differentiate learning and adapt sessions to individual needs.
    Experience supporting learners with additional needs, SEMH or barriers to education is desirable.
    Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (essential) If you do not have one we can send a link to apply for one as part of the process.
    Right to work in the UK.

    All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

    Spencer Clarke Group work with a variety of schools covering a wide geographical area. We deal with teaching placements at Primary, Secondary, Special Education needs and college level as well as support staff positions also within these.
