A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Structural Engineer to join a well-established and highly regarded structural engineering consultancy based on the outskirts of Birmingham.

With a strong and varied project pipeline, this is an ideal opportunity for a degree-qualified Structural Engineer with 5+ years' UK experience who is ready to take ownership of projects, work with real autonomy and play a key role in their successful delivery.

The role offers excellent variety, with projects spanning education, healthcare, residential and commercial sectors, giving the successful candidate the chance to work across different building types and structural challenges.

The successful Structural Engineer will be responsible for developing structural designs from concept through to completion, carrying out calculations and analysis, and designing principal structural elements in accordance with current UK standards and regulations. The role also involves preparing technical reports and design documentation, liaising directly with clients, architects, contractors and other members of the design team, and attending project meetings and site visits.

This position would suit an engineer who is confident working independently, enjoys taking responsibility for their projects and is keen to build on their technical and project management experience within an established consultancy.

Candidates should hold a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and have a minimum of five years' post-graduate structural engineering experience gained in the UK.

Strong experience across major structural elements, together with a sound knowledge of UK construction methods, Building Regulations and British Standards, is essential. Excellent communication, organisation and project management skills are also required.
