How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Senior Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering - Trim & Final

St Athan, South Wales Competitive Salary + Benefits

Manpower is recruiting on behalf of Aston Martin for a Senior Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering - Trim & Final to join their manufacturing facility in St Athan.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join one of the world's most iconic luxury automotive brands and play a key role in driving manufacturing excellence across the Trim & Final and Vehicle Confirmation areas.

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and improving manufacturing processes that support quality, delivery, cost and safety objectives. Working closely with Production, Quality, Manufacturing Business Office and cross-functional teams, you will identify opportunities to optimise manufacturing performance, reduce waste and deliver continuous improvement across the production environment.

You will support the evaluation of manufacturing processes, tooling and facility requirements while helping to introduce smarter, more efficient ways of working. The role will involve analysing production performance, balancing manufacturing activities, developing process documentation and supporting the implementation of new components, processes and engineering changes.

A key aspect of the position will be investigating manufacturing issues, identifying root causes and implementing robust corrective actions. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders across the business to ensure process improvements are successfully introduced and controlled through effective documentation, including Process Operation Sheets, PFMEAs and Control Plans.

You will also contribute to manufacturing optimisation projects, supporting tooling selection, production line balancing and process improvements that improve efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

    What We're Looking For

We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer with a strong technical background and a passion for continuous improvement.

Candidates should ideally be qualified to HNC, HND or Degree level in an Engineering discipline, or be working towards a relevant degree qualification. Previous Manufacturing Engineering experience within a production or manufacturing environment is essential.

You will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using structured problem-solving methodologies and data-driven decision making. Knowledge of manufacturing process development, process controls and continuous improvement techniques is required.

Experience using CAD software, ideally Siemens NX or similar 3D CAD packages, would be highly advantageous. Knowledge of tooling specification, line balancing and manufacturing process optimisation is also desirable. Previous automotive manufacturing experience would be beneficial, although candidates from other high-volume or complex manufacturing environments are encouraged to apply.

We are looking for someone who can build strong relationships across multiple functions, influence change, challenge existing processes and deliver practical engineering solutions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to influence the production of some of the world's most desirable vehicles while developing your career with a globally recognised luxury automotive manufacturer.

You'll join a collaborative and innovative team where your ideas will help shape manufacturing processes, improve vehicle quality and drive operational excellence. Your work will have a direct impact on manufacturing performance, efficiency and the future success of Aston Martin.

    Diversity & Inclusion

Aston Martin is committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued, respected and empowered to succeed. Applications are welcomed from all suitably qualified candidates regardless of background.
