How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Family Care Paralegal

Make a difference. Build your career. Be part of a team that cares.

Are you a Paralegal looking to build your career in Family Law? Do you want a role where your work has a genuine impact on people’s lives?

We’re looking for a Family Care Paralegal to join a busy, supportive and dedicated Family Team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your experience in Family Care and public law children matters, working alongside experienced Solicitors and Legal Advisers on a varied caseload including care proceedings and pre-proceedings work.

You’ll play an important role in supporting clients through what can often be some of the most challenging and sensitive periods of their lives. Alongside gaining valuable legal experience, you’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of your work, develop your technical skills and grow your career within a specialist area of law.

    What’s in it for you?

We believe that great people deserve great benefits. In return for your hard work and commitment, you’ll enjoy:

    * Hybrid and flexible working – giving you greater choice over how you work.

    * 25 days’ annual leave + bank holidays

    * Your birthday off – because everyone deserves a day to celebrate.

    * Death in Service scheme

    * Healthcare cash plan

    * A supportive team environment where your development and progression are encouraged.

    * The opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in a specialist area of Family Law.

    What will you be doing?

No two days will be exactly the same. You’ll work closely with Solicitors and Legal Advisers, helping to keep cases moving and ensuring clients receive the high standard of service they deserve.

    Your role will include:

    * Supporting Solicitors and Legal Advisers with Family Care matters, including care proceedings and pre-proceedings work.

    * Providing professional, empathetic and client-focused support to clients facing sensitive and challenging circumstances.

    * Drafting correspondence, legal documents, witness statements, chronologies and applications.

    * Liaising with clients, Courts, Local Authorities, Counsel, CAFCASS, experts and other third parties.

    * Attending Court and client meetings where appropriate.

    * Maintaining accurate and well-organised client files and case records.

    * Monitoring deadlines and supporting the progression of cases.

    * Preparing Court bundles, hearing papers, briefing packs and other documentation.

    * Assisting with Legal Aid applications and administration.

    * Supporting client due diligence, AML and data protection requirements.

    * Assisting with billing, time recording, disbursements and other administrative tasks.

    * Working collaboratively with colleagues and supporting the wider team during busy periods.

    * Keeping your knowledge up to date with relevant legal developments and procedural changes.

Most importantly, you’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of delegated work, build your confidence and develop your career as your experience grows.

    What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who is organised, driven and genuinely passionate about delivering excellent client service.

    You’ll ideally have:

    * A relevant legal qualification, such as a Law Degree, LPC, SQE or CILEX qualification, or relevant practical experience.

    * Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    * Strong organisational and time-management skills.

    * A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.

    * The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

    * A professional, approachable and compassionate manner.

    * The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.

    * Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and case management systems.

    * The confidence to work independently while also being a strong team player.

If you’re looking for a role where you can develop your legal career, gain valuable experience and make a real difference to clients, we’d love to hear from you.
