Supply Desk are seeking a professional, compassionate, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive SEN school in the Hemel Hempstead area, starting this September.

This full-time role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs and is committed to creating a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment. The successful candidate will be patient, adaptable, and enthusiastic, with a genuine desire to help pupils overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance to pupils, helping them engage with learning and develop their confidence, independence, and social skills. The role may involve supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis or within small groups, adapting activities to meet individual needs, and providing encouragement throughout the school day.

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with a range of special educational needs
• Assist teachers with delivering engaging and accessible learning activities
• Support pupils with their academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development
• Help create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
• Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence, and life skills
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and other professionals to support individual pupil needs

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children or young people
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN is desirable
• Passion for supporting the development of learning
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
• Inclusive ethics
• Knowledge, maintenance, and promotion of safeguarding
