We are currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a leading Irish infrastructure and engineering business delivering major rail, civil engineering and energy projects across Ireland.
This is a senior commercial position with responsibility for managing project commercial performance, leading a commercial team and working closely with project delivery, planning, procurement and senior management.
The role offers the opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of major infrastructure projects within an established organisation, with strong long-term career progression.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead commercial management from tender through to final account
* Review contracts, commercial terms, risks, liabilities and exposures
* Lead monthly CVR reporting, forecasting and commercial reporting
* Manage, mentor and develop the commercial team
* Review tenders and cost information and support target cost development
* Manage supply chain strategy, procurement and subcontractor performance
* Manage specialist contractors and supply chain partners
* Lead Earned Value Management (EVM) and commercial performance reporting
* Manage contract notices, compensation events, variations and disallowed costs
* Support dispute avoidance and resolution
* Coordinate commercial activities across procurement, estimating, planning, accounts and production
* Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
* Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
Requirements
* Degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline
* Proven experience in a Commercial Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor position
* Strong background delivering major infrastructure projects
* Experience with NEC and/or JCT contracts
* Strong commercial, contractual and financial understanding
* Experience with CVRs, forecasting, cost control and commercial reporting
* RICS, ICES or CIOB membership, or working towards professional qualification, is desirable
