Pertemps are currently recruiting for an experienced Overhead Crane Operator to join a busy manufacturing and engineering environment.
The successful candidate will have previous experience operating an overhead crane and be confident moving heavy materials safely and efficiently around a busy factory.
This is a long-term temp-to-perm opportunity, with the potential to secure a permanent position for the right candidate.
The Role
Operating an overhead crane to lift, move and position heavy materials
Loading and unloading steel, sheet metal and other manufacturing materials
Moving materials safely around the production area
Using lifting equipment in line with company procedures
Checking loads and ensuring materials are safely secured before lifting
Supporting production and manufacturing teams with material movements
Assisting with loading and unloading deliveries when required
Following production instructions and health and safety procedures
Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment
Carrying out general production duties when required
The Successful Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience as an Overhead Crane Operator
A valid Overhead Crane Licence / Certificate
Experience operating overhead cranes within a manufacturing, engineering, steel or fabrication environment
Experience moving heavy or awkward loads safely
Good understanding of lifting and loading procedures
Strong awareness of Health & Safety
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
