Bright Futures Recruitment is looking for an experienced and confident HLTA to join a small Alternative Provision setting in the Colchester area.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys working with young people who need a different approach to education.

The setting supports young people who have struggled within mainstream education, including pupils with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour and those who have become disengaged from learning.

We’re looking for an HLTA who is confident, calm and able to build strong relationships while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries.

The role

You’ll work closely with teachers and support staff, supporting learning both in and outside of the classroom. You’ll also be confident leading activities and learning with small groups and individual pupils.

This is a smaller, more individualised setting where staff have the opportunity to really get to know the young people they support and make a difference to their education and confidence.

Have HLTA or strong senior Teaching Assistant experience

Have experience supporting young people with SEMH and behavioural needs

Are confident leading learning with individuals and small groups

*

Can build positive relationships with young people

*

Are calm, resilient and consistent

*

Have strong behaviour management skills

*

Have experience within Alternative Provision, PRU, SEND or SEMH settings
