How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Area Sales Manager - Commercial Pipework Systems

South East - London & Home Counties
£50-55k Basic Salary + Bonus + Company Car

We're recruiting for an experienced Area Sales Manager to join an established and growing supplier of commercial pipework and press-fitting systems, covering London, the Home Counties and the wider South East.

This is a field-based sales role focused on developing business across the commercial and industrial building-services market, working with M&E contractors, mechanical contractors, installers, merchants and distribution partners.

The successful candidate will inherit an established territory with significant potential for further growth. The route to market is predominantly through merchant and distribution partners, while developing demand and project opportunities directly with contractors.

    Key Responsibilities

Manage and develop sales across the South East territory

Build relationships with M&E contractors, mechanical contractors and commercial installers

Develop existing merchant and distribution partnerships

Work alongside merchant sales teams on joint customer and contractor visits

Identify and develop commercial and industrial project opportunities

Generate demand for commercial pipework and press-fitting systems

Develop relationships with key decision-makers throughout the project supply chain

Manage projects from initial opportunity through to specification, quotation and order

Identify new customers and opportunities to increase market share

Deliver agreed sales, revenue and territory growth targets

    Requirements

Proven field sales experience within commercial plumbing, mechanical building services or industrial pipework

Experience selling pressure pipe and fittings, stainless-steel pipework, press-fit systems or closely related products

Knowledge of 304/316 stainless-steel systems would be particularly advantageous

Experience selling into commercial and/or industrial projects

Strong relationships with M&E contractors, mechanical contractors, installers or associated customers

Experience working through plumbers' merchants, specialist distributors or other distribution partners

Able to develop contractor demand while supporting and developing the distribution channel

Commercially driven with a strong track record of developing territories and winning new business

Based within or able to effectively cover London, the Home Counties and the wider South East

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sales professional from the commercial pipework, valves, fittings, press systems or mechanical building-services sector to join a growing business and develop a high-potential territory.
