How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Part-Time Receptionist

    Location: Gosforth
    Contract: Permanent
    Hours: 22.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 10:00am - 2:30pm
    Salary: Full-time equivalent (FTE) salary of £28,300, pro rata to 22.5 hours per week
    Benefits: Free onsite parking

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Receptionist, Front of House professional, or Customer Service Administrator who enjoys working in a people-focused role and takes pride in delivering outstanding service.

    The Role

    You will be the first point of contact for visitors, occupiers, and guests, helping to create a welcoming and professional environment at all times.

    You will provide front of house support, coordinate facilities-related activities, assist with events and meeting room management, and work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the building.

    Key Responsibilities

    Deliver a first-class front of house experience for all visitors, guests, and occupiers.
    Meet and greet visitors, notifying tenants and hosts of their arrival.
    Manage access control passes, ensuring building security is maintained at all times.
    Handle incoming calls and emails professionally, taking and passing on accurate messages where required.
    Support the management and scheduling of the events diary.
    Assist with meeting room bookings, occupier engagement initiatives, and building events.
    Liaise with tenants and building users, responding to enquiries and escalating complex issues where appropriate.
    Notify occupiers of deliveries and incoming post.
    Carry out regular quality checks of communal areas, reporting maintenance or cleaning issues promptly.
    Ensure reception and lounge areas remain clean, tidy, and welcoming.
    Monitor and maintain stocks of stationery and reception supplies.
    Support the wider team with facilities coordination and administrative duties.
    Assist with health and safety responsibilities within the building.
    Provide flexibility in working patterns where possible to support holiday cover and unexpected team absences.
    Undertake any additional duties required to support the effective operation of the building.Skills & Experience

    Ideally 2+ years' experience within a Reception, Front of House, Hospitality, Events Venue, Facilities, or Customer Service role.
    Exceptional customer service skills with a genuine passion for helping others.
    Confident, friendly, and professional approach.
    Ability to work independently and use initiative.
    Strong organisational and time management skills.
    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    Comfortable managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
    Good understanding of confidentiality and professionalism.
    Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
