The Role – Graduate Teaching Assistant
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside the class teacher to support primary-aged pupils with their learning and development across the curriculum. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support in core subjects, including English and Maths, helping pupils develop their understanding, improve their academic progress and build confidence in the classroom. You will assist with lesson activities, encourage pupils to engage with their learning and provide additional support to those who may find certain aspects of the curriculum challenging.
You will also help promote positive behaviour, support pupils' social and emotional development and contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom environment. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, patient and motivated, with strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children. Previous experience working with children through schools, tutoring, coaching or similar settings would be beneficial, although graduates with a genuine passion for education and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
This role is particularly suited to a graduate looking to gain practical classroom experience before pursuing teacher training or developing a long-term career in primary education.
