Care Assistant – Residential Care
About the Role
We are looking for experienced and compassionate Care Assistants to provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to residents within a residential care setting in Upminster.
The role involves supporting residents with their daily care needs while helping them feel safe, comfortable, respected and well supported.
Previous experience supporting adults living with dementia is essential for this role.
We are looking for reliable individuals who can work professionally, build positive relationships with residents and integrate well into an existing care team.
Shift Times
8:00am–3:00pm | 2:00pm–9:00pm | 8:00am–9:00pm
Candidates should be flexible and able to work the required shift patterns.
Key Responsibilities
* As a Care Assistant, you will provide compassionate, person-centred care and support to residents, including personal care and assistance with daily routines. You will support residents living with dementia, communicate with them effectively and help them feel comfortable, safe and respected.
* You will follow individual care plans, risk assessments and support instructions, provide medication support where required and in accordance with relevant procedures, and report any changes or concerns appropriately.
* The role also involves maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality, working effectively as part of the existing care team and contributing to a safe, welcoming and supportive environment.
Essential Requirements
* Candidates must have previous experience working as a Care Assistant, Support Worker or in a similar care setting, with proven experience supporting adults living with dementia.
* Experience providing personal care is essential. Candidates should have a compassionate, patient and caring approach, good communication skills and a professional and reliable attitude.
* You must be able to work effectively as part of a team, confidently support residents with their individual care needs and follow care plans, risk assessments, policies and procedures.
* Black trousers and black shoes suitable for care work are required.
Desirable
* A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred.
* Medication administration experience and relevant care qualifications or additional dementia care training would also be advantageous.

* You should be confident communicating with residents living with dementia and comfortable working within a busy residential care environment. You must also be able to integrate quickly into an existing team and provide dependable support.
