How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Location: United Kingdom

    The Company

    Our client is an international organisation, supplying high-performance polymers and polyamides to a diverse range of industries, including Automotive, Industrial, Consumer, Rail , Aerospace, Electrical, Electronics, Healthcare and Optics. They are committed to delivering quality, innovation and long-term partnerships.

    The Opportunity

    We are seeking a technically capable, commercially driven Sales Manager to develop business across the UK and Ireland. While the role includes key account management, it is strongly biased towards new business development, application development and specification-led sales.

    The Role

    You will work with OEMs, Tier 1 and Tier 2 manufacturers to identify applications where engineered polymers and polyamides can improve products, processes and performance.

    Opportunities could involve introducing a new or higher-performing polymer, improving an existing material specification, or replacing traditional materials with high-performance engineered polymers.

    You will engage with engineering, design, manufacturing, procurement and commercial teams to understand their applications and challenges, then develop technically and commercially viable solutions.

    This could include:

    * Material selection and metal-to-polymer conversion

    * Injection moulding and manufacturing processes

    * Component, tooling and design-for-manufacture considerations

    * Prototype development and testing

    * Integration into wider engineered assemblies

    * Performance, certification and validation requirements

    * Cost, weight, durability and manufacturing improvements

    You will have access to significant technical support and expertise within the wider business. However, you must possess sufficient technical knowledge to ask the right questions, understand applications and establish credibility with engineers and customers from the outset.

    Business Development

    This is fundamentally a business-development role. You will identify target customers and applications, gain access to decision-makers and specification influencers, and develop opportunities from initial discussion through prototype, validation, specification and ultimately production.

    You will need to build relationships throughout the supply chain. Even where products are supplied through Tier 1 or Tier 2 manufacturers, specifications may be controlled by the OEM, making the ability to develop relationships and influence specifications at OEM level particularly important.

    About You

    Suitable candidates could come from:

    * Injection moulding, including tooling, materials, process or application experience

    * Chemistry, polymer or materials science

    * Industrial manufacturing applications

    * Engineered plastics, technical components or materials

    * Mechanical or manufacturing engineering

    * Application engineering or technical sales/business development

    Ideal Qualifications are:

    * BEng / BSc or Equivalent technical knowledge learnt “on the job”

    You may currently be a Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, Technical Sales Engineer, Application Engineer or commercially minded technical specialist.

    You will combine technical curiosity with a strong new-business mentality. You can gain access to decision-makers, understand engineering challenges, communicate technical benefits in commercially relevant terms and maintain momentum through potentially long and complex sales cycles.

    Self-motivated and focused, you will be comfortable operating autonomously while drawing upon wider technical resources when required.

    The position is home based anywhere in the UK, covering the UK and Ireland, with approximately three to four days per week spent visiting customers, prospects and OEMs
