Animal Welfare & Management Lecturer
Location: Northamptonshire
Salary: £36,217 – £43,197 per annum
Contract: Full time, 37 hours per week, permanent

Think FE are working with a well-regarded college in Northamptonshire that is looking to appoint an Animal Welfare & Management Lecturer on a full-time, permanent basis.

This is a great opportunity for someone with current animal industry knowledge who wants to deliver across a broad Animal Welfare & Management curriculum. The role includes teaching, tutoring, learner support, curriculum development and practical activities across both Further Education and Higher Education provision.

The role
As an Animal Welfare & Management Lecturer, you will deliver high-quality teaching and training to students across full-time, part-time and short courses.
Your responsibilities will include:

Delivering Animal Welfare & Management programmes across FE and HE
Acting as a course tutor and supporting groups of learners throughout their programme
Monitoring attendance, progress and achievement
Supporting students through tutorials, records of achievement and placement visits
Contributing to curriculum development in line with industry needs
Taking part in practical demonstrations and activities with students
Supporting internal verification, auditing and quality processes
Promoting high standards of safeguarding, health and safety and student conduct
Contributing to recruitment events, open days and wider departmental activities
The post is 37 hours per week, with occasional evening or weekend working where required.

What we're looking for
To be considered for this role, you will need:

An FdSc or equivalent qualification in an Animal Care-related subject
Relevant and up-to-date Animal Science industry knowledge
Strong communication and organisational skills
The ability to motivate, engage and support learners
The ability to plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive learning
GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or equivalent
A teaching qualification, or a willingness to work towards a Diploma in Teaching and Learning, Certificate in Education or equivalent
A commitment to safeguarding and supporting young people and vulnerable adults
A BSc in an Animal Care-related subject is desirable, along with experience of working within the Animal Welfare industry and previous FE or HE experience. A relevant postgraduate or professional qualification would also be advantageous.
