Are you an experienced Deputy Manager looking for your next opportunity within a well-established nursing and residential care setting?
We are recruiting for a confident and compassionate Deputy Care Home Manager to support the day-to-day running of a successful care home. Working closely with the Home Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining excellent standards of care, supporting and developing the staff team and ensuring residents receive truly person-centred support.
The Role
As Deputy Manager, you will:
Support the Home Manager with the effective day-to-day running of the home
Provide leadership, guidance and support to nurses, care assistants and support staff
Take responsibility for the service in the Home Manager’s absence when required
Ensure residents receive high-quality, individualised and person-centred care
Monitor residents’ needs and ensure care plans are accurate and regularly reviewed
Carry out staff supervisions, appraisals and identify training and development needs
Support, mentor and motivate the team to maintain high standards
Ensure the home operates in line with CQC requirements and relevant legislation
Take an active role in safeguarding and ensure any concerns are identified and appropriately reported
Oversee safe medication practices and ensure appropriate procedures are followed
Build positive relationships with residents, relatives, healthcare professionals and external agencies
Support infection control, health and safety and regulatory compliance
Help create a positive, welcoming environment for residents and colleagues
What We’re Looking For
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Previous experience working as a Deputy Manager within a care home setting
Strong knowledge of CQC standards and regulatory requirements
Experience supervising and developing care teams
Good understanding of safeguarding procedures
A genuine passion for delivering excellent care
Strong leadership and communication skills
The ability to build excellent relationships with residents, families and healthcare professionals
A person-centred approach with the ability to involve residents and families in care planning
The confidence to support the Home Manager with the overall management of the service
