The Role
As Plant Manager, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the plant and outdoor living department, ensuring high standards of plant quality, stock availability, visual merchandising and customer service.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading and managing the horticultural department to deliver strong commercial performance
Driving sales, maximising revenue and achieving department targets
Managing stock availability, plant quality and stock rotation
Creating attractive plant displays and maintaining excellent visual merchandising standards
Recruiting, training, motivating and developing a knowledgeable team
Delivering outstanding customer service and sharing expert horticultural advice
Managing product ranges, promotions and departmental layouts
Maintaining high standards of health and safety and ensuring compliance
Monitoring performance and identifying opportunities to improve sales and profitability
About You
We're looking for a passionate and commercially minded horticultural professional with strong leadership skills and a genuine interest in plants and gardening.
You'll ideally have:
Previous experience as a Plant Manager, Horticultural Manager, Garden Centre Manager or Department Manager
Experience working within a garden centre, horticultural or plant retail environment
Strong knowledge of plants, gardening and horticulture
Experience managing, coaching and developing a team
A proven ability to drive sales and deliver commercial results
Excellent customer service and communication skills
A hands-on approach and the ability to maintain high retail standards
