About the Role:
Inspire students to communicate confidently and discover a love of languages. Teach Now is recruiting a Modern Foreign Languages Teacher for a boarding school in Hertfordshire, offering motivated students, a picturesque setting and a close-knit school community.
Joining the Modern Languages Department on a 0.8 FTE basis, you will deliver engaging lessons, lead speaking sessions for examination candidates and tailor teaching to different abilities. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to develop students language skills and support strong academic progress.
For a suitably experienced French specialist, there may also be an opportunity to take on Head of French responsibilities. The school offers scope for initiative, professional development and involvement in students wider educational and pastoral experience.
Requirements:
QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification.
Secondary MFL teaching experience and strong subject knowledge.
Experience preparing students for examinations and leading speaking sessions.
Effective assessment, classroom-management and communication skills.
A commitment to safeguarding and willingness to complete relevant pre-employment checks.
French teaching to examination level, GCSE and/or A Level experience, and previous departmental responsibility are desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop language skills and confidence.
Provide speaking practice and targeted examination preparation.
Assess, monitor and report on progress, adapting teaching to individual needs.
