ES Recruit is recruiting experienced Structural Steel Welders to join a well-established structural steel fabrication business based in North Yorkshire.
We have opportunities available across days and back shift, with regular overtime available and enhanced rates.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced MIG / MAG Welders looking for secure, long-term work within a busy heavy structural steel environment.
Day Shift
Basic - £16.85 per hour
Back Shift
Basic - £20.22 per hour
Includes 20% shift uplift
Shift Patterns
Day Shift
Monday - Friday: 6:00am - 2:30pm
40-hour standard working week with overtime available.
Back Shift
Monday - Thursday: 2:30pm - 11:00pm
Friday: 2:30pm - 8:30pm
40-hour standard working week with a 20% shift uplift plus overtime opportunities.
The Work
You'll be welding heavy structural steel plate and sections up to 100mm thick within a busy production environment.
Your work will include:
Structural steel welding of heavy plate and sections
MAG 135 manual welding
Single and multi-run fillet welds
Butt welds
Predominantly down-hand welding
Working accurately to engineering specifications
Visual inspection of completed welds
Safe use of grinders and associated equipment
Working around overhead cranes and heavy steel components
What We're Looking For
Structural steel welding experience is essential.
You'll ideally have:
Proven experience as a Structural Steel Welder
Strong MAG 135 welding experience
Experience with heavy structural plate and sections
Experience producing single and multi-run fillet and butt welds
Understanding of welding codes and standards
Experience working around overhead cranes and appropriate slinging techniquesTime-served Welders and candidates holding City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent welding qualifications are particularly encouraged to apply.
