About the opportunity
An excellent and exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated Sales Engineer to join a successful regional M&E contractor operating across the South West. This role would suit an enthusiastic candidate looking to develop their sales career within a successful and supportive team.
The role
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing and securing sales opportunities across a defined territory. The role will focus primarily on fire alarm systems, including supply only, supply and commission, and supply, install and commission packages. There will also be opportunities to support sales across other life safety systems, including voice alarm, refuge alarm and evacuation alarm systems, as well as security system installations.
Key responsibilities
Act as a proactive member of the South West sales team.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, supporting repeat and recurring business.
Identify and secure new clients and sales opportunities within the defined sales area.
Use the CRM system to make sales calls, arrange appointments, track opportunities, update records and forecast sales activity.
Work towards agreed sales targets across a pre-defined territory.
Carry out specifier selling with M&E consultants, local authorities, end clients and electrical contractors.
Produce fire alarm designs and quotations for supply only, supply and commission, and full supply, install and commission projects.
Provide practical and technical support to electrical contractors purchasing fire alarm equipment or services.
Carry out site surveys for small works enquiries, system upgrades and new systems within existing buildings.
Complete tender and bid documentation where required.
Liaise with internal design, estimating, project and commercial teams to develop schemes and quotations.
Deliver system demonstrations, presentations and attend client meetings as required.
Manage client accounts effectively and liaise with credit control to support smooth account management.
About you
Self-motivated, enthusiastic and keen to develop a career in sales.
Confident building professional relationships with clients, contractors and consultants.
Able to manage a sales pipeline and maintain accurate CRM records.
Technically minded, with the ability to understand fire alarm, life safety or security system requirements.
Comfortable attending site, completing surveys and supporting clients throughout the sales process.
Professional, proactive and committed to representing the company positively at all times.
