How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Junior Quality Inspector

    Northampton

    £33k per annum inc shift

    Permanent role

    We're looking for a Junior Quality Inspector to join a fast-paced manufacturing business, offering a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in quality and engineering.

    This role would suit someone with experience in manual inspection or a recently qualified engineering apprentice looking to build on their skills and learn new techniques, including how to operate CMM equipment.

    You'll be working alongside an experienced team, gaining hands-on experience in quality inspection, measurement and manufacturing processes.

    The Role

    Carry out manual inspection of components to ensure they meet required specifications.

    Learn how to operate CMM machines and use precision measuring equipment.

    Inspect components using engineering drawings and technical specifications.

    Record inspection results and report any quality issues or non-conformances.

    Work closely with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to maintain quality standards.

    Develop your technical knowledge and inspection skills through on-the-job training.

    About You

    Experience in manual inspection or a recently completed engineering apprenticeship/qualifications 

    An understanding of engineering drawings and measurement techniques.

    Keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to work.

    A willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.

    Positive attitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    The role will involve working on a early/late shift pattern - Monday to Friday. 6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm, rotating weekly.
