How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    M&E Document Controller

    Manchester

    Reporting To

    M&E Manager / Project Manager / Document Control Manager

    Role Overview

    We are seeking an organised and detail-focused M&E Document Controller to manage the production, distribution, tracking and storage of mechanical and electrical project documentation.

    The successful candidate will work closely with the M&E team, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers and wider project team to ensure that drawings, specifications, technical submissions, RFIs, O&M information and other project documentation are accurately controlled and issued in accordance with project procedures.

    Key Responsibilities

    Manage the M&E document control system throughout the project lifecycle.

    Register, upload, distribute and track drawings, documents and technical information.

    Maintain accurate drawing and document registers, ensuring revision status is kept up to date.

    Control the issue and receipt of M&E drawings, specifications, schedules and technical submissions.

    Manage document workflows, approvals, comments and resubmissions.

    Track RFIs, TQs, technical submittals and design queries.

    Coordinate the distribution of information between M&E subcontractors, consultants, designers and the project team.

    Ensure superseded documents are appropriately archived and removed from active use.

    Monitor outstanding documentation and chase overdue submissions and responses.

    Maintain records of design changes, drawing revisions and document transmittals.

    Assist with the compilation and management of O&M manuals, commissioning records, test certificates and handover documentation.

    Support the M&E team with project reporting and document status updates.

    Ensure documentation is stored in accordance with company and project procedures.

    Assist with audits and ensure project records are complete, accurate and traceable.

    Liaise with site teams to ensure the latest approved information is available for construction.

    Commissioning documentation

    O&M manuals

    Asset registers

    Handover documentation

    Drawing transmittals and correspondence

    Essential Experience & Skills

    Previous experience in document control within construction, M&E, engineering or a similar environment.

    Good understanding of construction documentation and drawing revision processes.

    Strong organisational and administrative skills.

    Excellent attention to detail.

    Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines.

    Confident communicating with project teams, subcontractors and consultants.

    Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.

    Experience using a Common Data Environment (CDE) or document management system.

    Ability to identify discrepancies, missing information and document-control issues.

    Professional and proactive approach.

    Desirable

    Experience working on M&E or building services projects.

    Knowledge of systems such as Viewpoint, Asite, Aconex, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Zutec or SharePoint.

    Understanding of mechanical and electrical construction terminology.

    Experience supporting project handover and O&M compilation.

    Previous experience working on large-scale commercial, residential, healthcare, industrial or infrastructure projects.

    Qualifications

    A formal qualification is not necessarily required; however, relevant experience in construction document control, M&E administration, engineering administration or project coordination is highly desirable
