How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Position: Regional Sales Manager x2
    Location: 1x South East | 1x South West
    Salary: £70k + car
    The Company: A growing supplier of high-performance abrasives, welding consumables and associated products.

    The Role:
    • Building strong commercial relationships with industrial distributors, welding distributors, engineering suppliers, trade counters and regional buying groups.
    • Developing new distributor accounts and growing sales through existing distributor partners.
    • Supporting distributor sales teams with product knowledge, demonstrations, joint customer visits and commercial training.
    • Creating regional sales plans to drive revenue, margin and repeat business.
    • Ensuring distributors are actively promoting company products and not simply holding passive stock.
    • Helping distributor branches understand where company products fit against existing brands.
    • Supporting distributor-led customer trials, site visits and product conversions.
    • Identifying branch-level opportunities, regional buying opportunities and larger group-level agreements.
    • Working closely with distributor managers, branch managers, sales representatives and purchasing teams.
    • Although this is a distributor-led sales role, the successful candidate must be comfortable working directly with end users where required to support the distributor and help secure sales
    • Attending joint visits with distributor sales teams.
    • Demonstrating products on customer sites.
    • Helping convert end users from competitor products.
    • Understanding customer applications, pain points and usage volumes.
    • Providing clear commercial feedback to both the distributor and company management.
    • Supporting product trials and ensuring trials are followed up properly.
    • Helping distributors turn demonstrations into orders and repeat sales.

    Requirements:
    • A strong and proven background in regional sales, distributor sales, industrial sales, technical sales, key account management or field sales.
    • Ideally 10+ years’ experience in a relevant sales role, or an equivalent level of proven commercial achievement.
    • Experience selling through distributors, stockists, trade counters or industrial supply networks.
    • Strong knowledge of abrasives, welding products and engineering products.
    • A clear understanding of how to support distributors and help them sell to end users.
    • A successful track record of winning new business and growing existing accounts.
    • Experience conducting product demonstrations, trials or technical sales presentations.
    • The ability to influence distributor sales teams and branch managers.
    • Strong commercial awareness, including margin, pricing, volume potential and competitor positioning.
    • The ability to work independently across a regional territory.
    • Strong CRM discipline and accurate reporting habits.
    • The credibility to speak with business owners, branch managers, purchasing teams, sales teams and end users
