How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Sue Ross Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a growing, values-driven marketing and communications agency that works alongside public sector organisations, social enterprises and purpose-led businesses.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Client Services Manager with a strong business development background to play a pivotal role in driving growth, building meaningful client relationships and contributing to projects that make a genuine social impact.

As Client Services Manager, you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities and nurturing long-term client relationships. Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will develop and implement outreach strategies that support the organisation's growth objectives while remaining aligned with its strong ethical values.

This is a commercially focused role where success will be measured through new business acquisition, relationship development and contribution towards annual revenue targets.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities.

    * Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients across the public sector and related sectors.

    * Conduct proactive outreach through LinkedIn, email campaigns, networking events, conferences and other business development activities.

    * Work closely with internal marketing and account management teams to maximise opportunities for client growth.

    * Support the preparation and follow-up of proposals, quotations and client presentations.

    * Monitor market trends, government spending and sector opportunities to identify areas for business growth.

    * Attend exhibitions, networking events and industry conferences as required.

    * Champion the organisation's values and contribute to its ongoing marketing and brand development.

The successful candidate will be a proactive, commercially minded professional who thrives on developing relationships and uncovering new opportunities.

    You will have:

    * Proven experience in business development, client services or account growth within a service-based environment.

    * Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.

    * Commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities that align with organisational values.

    * Experience using AI-powered tools and technologies to support lead generation, outreach and business development activities.

    * Working knowledge of platforms such as HubSpot, Claude, Gemini and LinkedIn.

    * A results-driven approach with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.

    * Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.

    * A collaborative working style with the ability to motivate and engage colleagues.

    * Experience working with or selling services to public sector organisations would be highly advantageous.

    What's on Offer?

    * The opportunity to join a purpose-led organisation making a positive social impact.

    * A supportive and collaborative culture.

    * Genuine scope to influence business growth and strategy.

    * Exposure to innovative marketing, communications and AI-driven business development approaches.

    * Flexible working arrangements and excellent career development opportunities.

If you are an ambitious business development professional looking to combine commercial success with meaningful work, we'd love to hear from you.

Unfortunately due to the number of applications we receive, we are unable to provide individual feedback to all applicants. Please assume that if you do not hear from us within 72 hours that your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion.

May we take this opportunity to thank you for expressing an interest in one of our roles and wish you the very best in your search for employment
