How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title – Evening Receptionist
    Location - Waterlooville
    Salary - £14 per hour + Laptop & Work Mobile
    Hours -  Part-Time, 11 Hours a week during term time only
    Monday, and Wednesday 4pm – 8pm and Friday – 4pm – 7pm 

    The Opportunity

    Are you an organised Receptionist and administrator with excellent attention to detail and a friendly, approachable manner? An exciting opportunity is available with a community-focused, not-for-profit organisation providing accessible music education and activities for people of all ages. The Receptionist will provide a mixture of reception and administrative support, helping students, parents, teachers and partner organisations.

    During term time, you will be based at a school in Waterlooville, working fixed reception hours on Monday 4pm–8pm, Wednesday 4pm–8pm and Friday 4pm–7pm.

    Key Responsibilities

    Staff reception and monitor the school buzzer
    Monitor the admin inbox and respond to enquiries promptly
    Manage lesson and ensemble sign-ups and enquiries
    Liaise with teachers regarding timetables and scheduling
    Direct students, parents and visitors appropriately
    Complete general administration during quieter periods
    Answer calls and handle general enquiries
    Send reminders, invoices and end-of-term communications
    Liaise with schools and organisations about clubs and workshops
    Book venues and provide occasional event support
    Skills & Knowledge Required

    Well organised with strong attention to detail
    Friendly and approachable communication style
    Comfortable communicating with students, parents and teachers
    Able to manage enquiries efficiently and professionally
    Confident working independently during quieter periods
    Basic DBS preferred
    Driving licence preferred
