Estimator

An opportunity has arisen for an Estimator to join an established specialist contractor delivering major façade, roofing and building envelope packages across high-profile construction and infrastructure projects throughout the UK.

Projects include major stadiums, commercial developments, transport infrastructure, airports and other large-scale landmark schemes.

The Role

Working within the Sales and Estimating team, you’ll be involved throughout the tender and preconstruction process, working closely with Design, Operations, Commercial, Planning and the supply chain.

This could suit an Estimator, Assistant Estimator or Quantity Surveyor with construction experience who is looking to develop further within estimating and preconstruction. Previous façade, roofing or building envelope experience would be beneficial but is not essential.

Key responsibilities:

Review drawings, specifications, schedules and technical information.
Complete quantity take-offs and detailed cost build-ups.
Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations.
Prepare competitive tender submissions and Bills of Quantities.
Identify tender risks, opportunities and potential value engineering solutions.
Assist with RFIs, programmes, method statements and tender documentation.
Attend tender and clarification meetings.
Support project handovers following successful tenders.

What We’re Looking For

Previous estimating, quantity surveying or relevant construction experience.
Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
Good numerical, analytical and commercial awareness.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
An interest in developing within estimating and preconstruction.
Façade, roofing or building envelope experience advantageous but not essential.
Estimating software experience beneficial, with training available.
